I have a 2004 W20 Allegro 32' motorhome. I searched the site for info and found a couple of posts that were not too helpful.

My dash guage lights blow fuses. I keep replacing and it blows. I tried an extra 5 amps for the fuse and it still went. Any new ideas on what might be going on. All guages work. It's just the dash lights.

Thanks,
Dave

Do you have courtesy lights when you switch them on. Switch is suspect here. Good luck!!

Sorry for the delay. What exactly are you referring to when you courtesy lights.
Dave

As in an automobile; full rotation past the "click" of the dash light usually brings on some interior lighting. It may be a regional term such as "glove box/ glove compartment". In my coach it turns on a map-reading light above the driver's left shoulder.

The adjustable knob does click into a fixed position but does not operate anything. The fuse in question operates all the dash lights as well as the exterior running lamps above the front and rear caps and down the side of the coach. I put in a new 20 amp fuse and it didn't blow this time. I found out that I have a side running light that wasn't working. Upon further investigation, I found only 2 volts to it, which made me chase the wire back.

Unbelievable!!!! They ran the wire between the chassis frame rail and the coach framing. It has been rubbing and was causing a short which kept blowing the fuse for a while. Well I guess it finally just got so bad and possibly rubbed itself out of its dead short position to cause low voltage to the lamp. When I pulled on the wire it broke.
I'll fix it today.
Thanks
