believe that, as if they don't dim why is there a switch? anyone else have this situation? do yours dim? thanks

I believe LED's are basically diodes and have a switching on or off voltage rating. This maybe your problem. Incandescent lights with a filament do vary with voltage applied. Just a thought!

Mine was the same on my 2005 W24, would not dim. I asked dealer on warranty and they said that's how it is. No dimming. However the tech. said he could fix it and he did. He wouldn't tell me exactly what he did, just don't ask he said, because it wasn't an authorized fix but it looked like he installed a resistor with a heat sync on it and it's on the rotary switch and I think in series with the LED. So it can be done as mine dims fine now. I'll see if he's a little more willing to talk about it next week.

thanks FreshAir I'll keep a lookout for the answer. Just seems odd that they put in a swtch and cover it in the owners manual and then say that they don't dim!

Jeepfreak, I was not able to talk with the tech that modified my wiring to get the light dimmer to work so I looked at what he did to mine.
First let me tell you how my dimmer switch is wired. Top to bottom. Back of switch.
-------Brown wire
-------Black wire
-------White wire
-------Green wire
The Tech spliced into the Green wire with a pressure snap wire connector where it came out of the dimmer switch connector, ran a wire down to the fuse box cover and to a 10 ohm 50 W heat sync resistor he bought, $6.95, still has the price tag on it, mounted it to the cover. Just a handy place to mount the resistor. From the resistor he ran a wire to the ground screw on the fire wall behind the brake pedal. I don't think the Green wire or anything else was altered as the Green wire continued on it's way. I don't have a clue as to what the Green wire does. Green often means ground.????? It works.
Hope this makes sense.
Pat

Nope, don't make no sense to me. The green wire is the one that comes from the rheostat (dimmer) wiper to the lamps. Don't see how that would make it go from "no dimming" to "dimming".

Full-Timers, if what you say is true, then I think that explains it. By adding the resistor in parallel to the lamps, the resistor is shunting part of the current to ground instead of all thru the lamps. This changes the lamp circuit and makes the Dimmer switch more effective in controlling the brightness.
The problem must be a design error in the value of the dimmer switch.

On my Winnebago Adventurer (2003) I can dim the lights that are attached to the dimmer wheel.
For example; on the less expensive Winnebago Voyage (2005) the lights can not be dimmed.
My point is that the individual coach OEM may incorporate this feature or not into their build. Moreover it should be possible for you to do the same if you can come up with the right configuration.
