Daytime Running Lights
I bought a 2004 National Sea Breeze 37.5 ft. with 8.1 GM engine. When I imported the vehicle, Canadian Tire set up daytime running lights.During my last recheck I found the lights were not working. All lights work on the switch. How do I get the daytime lights working?

I would suggest you ask Canadian Tire since they set it up.

garcon,
This might be a tad bit complicated. The reason I say this is because on about 99.999999% of the newer vehicles (cars, pickups, etc. )can have the DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS programmed to be on or off, in the main logic computer running not only the engine, but the entire car. That includes programming seat positions for drivers, mirror positions, radio stations pre-programmed and about a few hundred things more.
So, does your motor home have the same kind of computer, that can be accessed by a tech who really knows his diagnostic equipment, well without seeing your coach and, it's technical capabilities, I can't tell you. Now, again, that's the way it's done on many cars etc. Since I've never had to deal with it on our last coach or, present one, because they're always on, I really can't tell you how to get them back on.

C/T would be the place to ask , as they probably have used multiple systems over the years , each would have it's own quirks.
Before you do go to C/T .
Run this test of the DRL system , engine running, park brake off , and some systems are even wired up to not activate till the transmission is in gear.
So have someone help with that test.
BTW; A belated , Welcome to iRV2.

Good advice, I suspect they added or turned on a relay that has decided to quit. I'm sure CT didn't do this for free so I would take it back to them.

seriously, or I could just take it to any repair shop and pay another ridiculous fee for someone to tell me there is a switch to flick or 25 cent fuse to replace.

There would be no , disconnect switch in the system , fuse is a maybe, but where in the system, and where in the coach ?
The add on system would have a lot of , installer leeway as to location of the installed components, start at the headlight connectors and work your way back towards the ignition and headlight switches and look for components that are patched in.
If the system was installed less than 3 months ago, call C/T and inquire about their warranty.

In late model chassis, the DRL's are controlled by the ECM. Our W24 has them set to run despite not being required in CA...but it is safer (I believe), so I left it that way.
Since CT turned the DRL's on, you know the RV has that capability, and if the regular lights are all working, it's not a blown fuse or bulb. The exact set-up procedure to activate the DRL's is buried in the Workhorse manuals...
Best luck

Thanks to all who responded. As expected, it was simple….the running lights do not come on when the ebrake is on.

That is correct...engine on and E-Brake release activates the DRL's.
Was the recheck a gov't inspection or your walk around?
Congrats on the easy fix/discovery

Good call Skip, don't know why I didn't think of that. It was one of my early calls to Spartan.....

I do not know the 2004 but on 2005 DRL's were standard
There is a fuse, and a DRL relay and the command module.
DRLs do not work with PARKING BRAKE ON. So if you are testing with the parking brake on that might be the problem
I do not recall if the Treanny in park will turn them off or not.. But there may be an interlock there as well.
That is on a 2005

My 2004 needed the Canadian Tire Touch when it was imported. The sensor that turns the DRL on is a wire wrapped around a spark plug lead. My only complaint is that the high beam indicator doesn't work. I'm the second owner after the import, and I didn't notice until the seller was long gone. Oh well, could be worse.
