I have a 2007 W24 with daytime running lights. The daytime running lights come on for a while when going down the road and then turn off, almost like they are turning off after a specified amount of time.
If I turn the headlights on and then back off, the daytime running lights will come back on for a little while and then turn off. Has anyone else found what may be causing this.

Thanks for your time.

Let me be the first to welcome you to iRV2!

Just a wild guess, but it sounds to me like the DRL's are tripping a circuit breaker. After they're on for a while, the circuit breaker gets hot and trips off, then once it's off for a while it cools down and you can turn them back on until it heats up, etc. Maybe replace the defective breaker?

I was also having trouble with my daytime running lights back in 2005. Turned out to be a defective running light module. It was replaced under warranty. The part number was 12088547. Dont't know if it would be the same number.

I had a similar problem on my rig some time ago. As it turned out, one of the bulbs had worked itself slightly loose at the connection and caused the DRL's to go on and off. Crazy thing though, the loose light was not the DRL bulb but one of the others. Tightened everything up and its worked like a champ since.

Also, the DRL's will go off when the emergency brake pedal is activated. I would check that the brake is fully released as ours cuts our DRS's off with the slightest push of the pedal.
