The other day, I saw a 03 Southwind 32VS, same as mine. I have two exhuast pipes coming out the right side. The one I saw had one coming out the left side......actually, it was the owner of the other Southwind that noticed the difference. So what's the deal?? Thanks
Brian

Winnebago has an over the axle 4" tailpipe and it's unique to them because they order it that way.

Nothing strange or unusual about it.

Until mid year 2003 Fleetwood would modify the standard WH dual exhaust to exit out the passenger side of the vehicle just ahead of the rear wheels. Mid year they started ordering from WH a single 4" exhaust pipe which went over the rear axle and exited behind the rear wheels on the drivers side.

My '05 Winnebago Sightseer 30B Workhorse had both exhausts on one side.

My '06 Winnebago Voyage 35A Workhorse has exhaust exiting out each side.

Not necessarily true there Driver - I'm looking at mine and it is under the big slide on the drivers side. But only by 8".

It is impossible to cover every possible floor plan in the business and it does largely depend on the coach manufacturer. By in large they try not to have the nozzle exhaust directly under the slideout. Given that they have a choice and most likely legislated some place by DOT, this is why we see these varied exhaust exit strategies.

Vehicles of all types have to meet requirements for exhausting combustion by products. Motorhomes are no exception.

We visited the Fleetwood Riverside, CA plant two weeks ago and saw both exhaust configurations as units rolled down the line. Nothing was mentioned about modifing the exhaust. Indeed the first station was the bare chassis having the leveling jacks installed. Next came the Power Platform installation, then the firewall, tanks, floor assembly, etc.
