alarm sounding

It is my impression that many coaches have more than one alarm - - Like door ajar, etc., etc. IF your coach has the J71 autopark system, and IF it has the overtravel alarm, then the following applies: There is a momentary switch on the actuator hydraulic cylinder - - it is screwed into the heavy flange. This switch has a short lead coming from it with a connector plug. Here is a more detailed explanation from one of our data sheets:

You can pretty easily test the overtravel switch that activates the buzzer. It is mounted on the end of the actuator that has the plumbing on it. This switch is normally ON when any hydraulic pressure is in the system, and will even be ON in absence of pressure IF the cable and shoes are adjusted properly. If the shoes or cable are allowing overtavel, the big spring in the actuator pushes the piston all the way to the end of the cylinder thus mechanically pushing the limit switch and turning on the buzzer. So - - with ignition ON, engine NOT running, shift lever in PARK, IF there is no overtravel the buzzer should not sound. With all those same conditions, you could test the buzzer by simply pulling the connector off of the overtravel switch. That should open the circuit and make the buzzer sound. If it is still silent, the problem has to be with the alarm relay or the buzzer itself. It is of course possible that the shoes and/or cable need adjusting but are not quite bad enough to reach the overtravel criteria thus setting off the buzzer.

So, if you have that switch UNPLUGGED, with the ignition ON the buzzer should be sounding. Try putting a little jumper wire into the connector - - that will take the place of the normally ON switch, and should shut off the buzzer IF IT IS THE OVERTRAVEL BUZZER THAT YOU ARE HEARING.

Alarm only beeps when in drive and moving, no other time, it stops when I stop at a stop light and comes back on when moving.I pulled pin on actulator because pump has a bad seal, disconnected both switch's and reservoir pump still beeps,I now have dash out and muffled back of alarm,I am on a trip and realize I have no park brake so have 2 sets wheel chocks.Got to be a wire somewhere to disconnect alarm on back of instructment cluster.Jon at Brazel's has me down to two wires B/W and one could be it but would have to be cut, any wire that can just be disconnected instead of cut??
Thanks John
