New coach has been at dealer service since we bought it for some real minor repairs, but we have been able to take it out for our weekend trips.
Anyways, picked it up again tonight for memorial day trip and a few things were fixed, but the remedy sounds odd, but what the heck do I know.

1. I have a rapid ticking noise, at idle, in center floorboard, under the firewall compartment thing=remedy says: "Pressure line leaking, added fluids for customer pickup, will perform additional repair once returned"

2. My ABS light was coming on, every now and then, no real pattern.
Remedy: Loose wire connection, reconnected wire behind fuse box (Did not come back on on my way home, so guess thats legit)

3. Cruise control did not work.
Remedy:"Wire shorted, repaired shorted wire, replace fuse"
(cruise also works now, so all good)

Guess my only real wonder is the ticking under firewall and the leaking fluid deal???

Still have not addressed the knocking under drivers seat (http://irv2.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/...5/m/8941084873)

Always happy to have my baby back from prison, gonna have fun this weekend.

Would be good for you to put your rig info in your signature area so we'd know how to respond.

I'm not sure what the ticking noise would be without knowing what fluid they topped off.

The rest of the repairs sound like they addressed the issues,

My vehicle is a 2007 fleetwood southwind 32vs on a WH W20 I believe.

The fluid that was topped off was; "2 ATF DEXTRON 3 TRANS-PRESSURE LINE LEAKING"

Will fix sig...thanks for being less of a group of ********es than another forum.

Craig

The ticking in our W-22 was a warped manifold. It happened once on the left side and later on on the right side. I think the W-22 is noted for having warpped manifolds. s/Toby

All Allison transmissions installed in Workhorse chassis since the begining of the 2nd quarter of 2006 have been filled with Transynd. Transynd is a synthetic fluid.

"IF" as is written on your invoice that someone added Dextron III to your transmission you need to clairify that by going there in person and asking to see the fluid they added to your transmission. If it is D3 the next thing out of your mounth should be then I want you to change my transmission fluid "because" it's filled with Transynd and not D3.

... and I don't care if it's compatible or not, Transynd is synthetic and D3 is not. Insist on your rights. I don't care if they say, "Well that's what we do for all our customers." - it's wrong!

Going to run over there this morn. as soon as they open up and get on this, thanks for the info...worrysome as it may be.

I can not believe how much more helpful of a forum this place than another RV forum.

Below is FAQ from WH...so you are saying that they may have mixed regular dexIII, with already installed synthetic???

Q. Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) - Can I use synthetic fluid?
A. Any fluid that meets DEXRON III requirements is suitable for use in the Allison 1000 Series™. Always verify that the container reads DEXRON III, regardless of whether it is mineral-based or synthetic.

Q. Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) - Can I use TranSynd fluid?
A. TranSynd is a fully synthetic transmission fluid available from Allison Distributors/Dealers or at GM dealers. TranSynd is a licensed DEXRON III product and has been extensively tested by Allison Engineering in a broad range of Allison products. While TranSynd was developed mainly to meet the harsh operating conditions of heavy-duty transmissions in severe operating conditions like transit buses, its benefits translate to the pickup truck market.

Q. Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) - What type of Transmission fluid can I use?
A. Transmission fluids licensed by General Motors to use the trademark DEXRON III are required in the Allison 1000 Series™ transmission.

I fixed my warped manifold - actually the gasket rusted out allowing a leak. I removed both manifolds and replacing them with Banks Torque tubes. The exhaust leak had caused a "notching" in the cylinder head so we still had to use another gasket on one side.
I did get more high speed torque (acceleration from 70 - 80 mph) and the under the hood temp dropped aprox 100 -150.f. I also got aprox 1 more mile per gal when crusing at 70mph.

This is from WH site though, and sounds like the fluid they put in might be ok, but you are the expert though, certainly not me. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Workhorse is correct D3 fluid won't hurt anything and yes it will work. That said the D3 will contaminate the synthetic Transynd fluid that was initially installed by Allison for testing purposes and filled in Union City by Workhorse on the assembly line.

Ask to see the fluid that they used before you get "their shorts" all twisted up in a knot. If they refuse we'll cross that bridge later.

As for my ticking sound, that a couple of you are saying is a 'warped manifold'
So their explanation of "PRESSURE LINE LEAKING" that caused the ticking is bogus? or possible.

And DriVer...if I can't get over there asap, and I do call to ask, do I simply ask them "did you put transynd in the tranny?"

We are leaving tomm. for weekend trip, so this certainly has put a damper on things knowing they jacked us on our tranny....headed up to big bear lake, 30 miles up a mountain, tranny will get a work out. ugh, so bummed at dealer service.
