Is there a number I can call to check with workhorse to see the real reason a coach was bought back. I am seriously looking at an 07 Dolphin LX 6355 that was a buy back because of a wandering problem while steering. Sounds to me like this is not reason for a buy back. I can get the VIN from the dealer if required.

I would say a buy back would be a dealer thing rather than a Workhorse thing.

If it was a buyback because of a steering/handling problem it would be through workhorse. I would contact WH and get the regional service managers phone number, give him the VIN# and he should be able to find out the particulars on why exactly it was a buyback.

thanks bmanrv. That is what the dealer told me. That workhorse had bought the coach back from original owner and made the repair and the dealer purchased it from workhorse. The coach is as new as the new ones on the lot. Where can I get workhorse numbers?

jhughd,
Not to change the subject, but why would you want to purchase an orphaned buy back?

Maybe he likes the coach or it is a great price for a great coach. As for being Orphaned, Monaco now owns many parts of the National assets including cap molds and other coachwork parts and will be supporting coach repairs at certain facilities(at a cost, I'm sure). So I wouldn't say National coaches are orphaned. Maybe once removed...

I am aware of National's demise. The coach is in "new condition" and the $$$$ are attractive. I am on a fixed income with only so much (very little) disposable cash and I want to remain debt free.

jhughd,
If I may ask, how much do they want for this coach and how many miles are on it? I only ask because I have stumbled across an exceptional deal (35% back of sticker) on a 2008 34 PDD Holiday Rambler (actual length is around 35') diesel. There is also a similar Monaco for slightly more. I will pass these deals on to you if you are interested because they are just slightly outside of my current new MH budget.

Having worked for car dealers over 30 years, not all buy backs are bad deals. Many are due to the "loose nut behind the wheel".
