We have an LBZ Duramax & Allison 6 spd that we were going to put into our service van, but decided to buy another van instead. If anyone is interested, we can swap out your combo for this one. Should be 400 horsepower & 800 ft lbs of torque to the ground when were done. Should be 13 mpg's or so as long as your not trying to race everbody. I don't know of any other Duramax powered Workhorse, do you??

Just imagine, you could then have the GradeBrake plus EXHAUST BRAKE!

Will that really fit under the dog house?

Marty,
Bring your coach up & we will find out! You would be able to monitor twice as much as you do now!!

Is the gearing a problem? I have always thought that could be a great package. Makes one wonder why Workhorse doesn't do this. I would think that would be a better option than the International V6.

I will be following this thread. I hope we get to hear all about how this project goes. Anh hopefully, lots of pictures too.
I thought about this when I had my 8.1 changed, but just thinking about the details got overwhelming for me, not to mention the price.

Run an internet search for the many applications where substituting a Duramax is successful. I was quite surprised. Saw a Duramax/Allison combo in a street-driven 67 Camaro a few years ago.

Hey Mike,
Have you got any interest yet?
Whats the year and mileage on the Duramax?
An 07 in my 07 would make sense.
I assume you have tranny mods planned. The power numbers you mentioned will break a stock 1000.
