I cannot find my manual. Do any of you know if you can burn E 15 in the Workhorse 8.1 with no damage?

I didn't know they were going the E15 route.

E10 is what I was asking about. I don't know where I came up with the E15. I did know about the E85. Thanks

E-85 is not recommended in the 8.1's at least up to last year.

E-10 is basically Winter Gas here in Michigan, should burn no problem (The advantage of E-10 is that you don't expierence Gas Line Freeze-up like you do with pure gas and a few drops of water condensed out of the air)

Trust me..> Been there, Done that, Switched to E-10 (Long time ago)

10% Ethanol is the only fuel other than regular unleaded gasoline, optional mid-grade or high test that is approved for use in the GM 8.1L Vortec engine.

We have 10% ethanol gas in Minnesota all year. We're going to 20% ethanol in 2012.

A 10% ethanol content reduces mileage by 3.9% according to EPA and 10% by MN rednecks. I use a figure about 5% reduction in mileage as a good compromise between these two highly biased opinions.

Here in Texas, if you fill up with gasoline in EPA non-attainment areas such as Houston (Harris and surrounding counties), you'll get E10!

DonavonP, In my expierience, unless Minnesota ethanol is different than Iowa ethanol, I go along with the Rednecks. At least 10% less mileage with the corn.

Is all this information posted clearly on the pump? Some of us old timers are used to just pumping GAS.

It is in Texas. There's a sticker saying "This fuel may contain up to 10% ethanol...blah, blah, blah."

Why is this topic still labelled E15?
LeeSoCal has said it was a mistake.
