I put E85 fuel in my 8.1 and it has been sitting for 5 months and I am about to take it out. I put in 36 gal of E85. Do you think I will have a problem?

YOUR vehicle is not set up to run on E-85. This will definetly cause a check engine light to come on. Will it cause it to stall? Probably not. We have cars come into our shop that are not E-85 compatible. GM suggests we drain tank and run the correct fuel. The small amount in fuel rails will not cause any premanent damage and once computer system reconizes all is well the check engine light will go off on its own.

Depends the 8.1 is not rated for E-85, you may damage fuel lines and/or seals, I would quickly fill the tank with pure gasoline if you can (E-ZERO if you can get it) and pray.. Hopefully you have a 70 gallon tank so that will work out to about e-40.

That said....

The problem is solvents. Both Gasoline and Alcohol are solvents but they dissolve different things. Now modern flex-fuel cars are designed with parts that resist both Gasoline (Petrol for Some Folks) and Alcohol,

The 8.1 and the Workhorse Custom Chassis, however, are NOT, thus there is a serious posiblity of damage

Though you should not have to worry about gas line freezup for a while

Workhorse Custom Chassis does not endorse the use of E-85 Ethanol based gasoline as using it may cause potential fuel system damage. Workhorse Custom Chassis gasoline engine models are not flex fuel calibrated for the use of E-85 Ethanol based gasoline and operating the vehicle with this present in the fuel system MAY VOID THE VEHICLES WARRANTY.

In order to resolve this problem:
GM suggests that the tank be drained and to run the correct fuel.

I expect as previosuly suggested by YngRVers that the balance of E (whatever) in the fuel rail will quickly burn off.
