Max, I may be way off base here, but from what I gather, you are talking about lifting the coach with your jacks, and then going under to work on it. You probably already planned to do this, but just a reminder to have something else supporting the coach such as a set of jackstands with a high enough rating to support the coach before you go under to work on it, even if you will just be working at the wheel well, better safe than sorry.

Again if I'm off base here I do apologize, but i thought it was worth mentioning.

No apology needed. The consequences could be too great. I always put stands or blocks under it after I get it high enough with the jacks.

Another, and very easy way, to identify a non-working cylinder is to use your WD-40 spray can (with the nozzle installed) and squirt the exhaust manifold where the bolts attach the various (8) exhaust ports to the cylinder head. The malfunctioning cylinder, for whatever reason, will not "steam up".

Just squirt each exhaust port while at idle and the engine is warmed up.

Good luck, and stay safe on the off road "trails". A broken femur is no fun.

I'm glad you posted this question on here. I don't have a bad wire at the moment, but if I ever do, I got a lot of good ideas to try that I had never thought of.

The engine computer keeps a record of the missing cylinder.

No it's not, Even the DR. told me, "it's pretty obvious you weren't acting your age"
Thanks for another good tip on finding the bad wire. Mine seems to always be #5 which luckily is a fairly easy one to get to, especially if the jacks are working. I may jus start keeping a spare set under the seat

Max, If you have a spare set of jacks under the seat, I'm coming to Parker to see that for myself!

after reading that , it does sound weird. I changed the plug wire thru the doghouse for the first time, but it is alot easier when the jacks work, to do it thru the wheelwell. But it's nice to know I could do it from inside when it's raining or cold out.

That's the way I did it the "First" time. It is much easier through the wheel well.

Yes, for now any way. The #5 wire boot came off , pretty much melted in 2 pieces, for about the 4th or 5th time. I put a Taylor Extreme o.n there but if it goes bad I'll go back to the el cheapo wires. Thus far the cheap wires have outlasted the expensive 10.4MM wires
