I have a 2003 Pace Arrow with the 8.1 Chevy and Allison Tranny. I recently had the TCM flashed or reprogrammed to try and eliminate the 5 to 3 downshift.

I have the Ultrapower ECM also and was curious as to whether the Ultrapower would need to be reflashed after having the TCM done.

Will the reflashing of the TCM have any effect on the ECM.

Thanks in advance
Ed

No, flashing the TCM has no effect on the ECM.

Jon, since I had the Grade Brake up grade done, would that be affected by a TCM reflash??

Yes it would as the activation of the grade brake feature is done thru programming.

I have a 2010 Itasca with 8.1/Allison. The shift points up and down are not where I would like them to be. The engine often runs up to 4000 rpm, when an early shift would be appropriate and desirable. Is there a product out there that would allow improvement in this area?

On the earlier models it is necessary to reprogram the PCM along with the TCM to correct the shift problem. If that is what they did to yours then you lost your Ultra Power program. I believe you can get it reprogrammed with the UP for free.
