I have lost power to my dash instruments 3 times in past three months of driving over 6000 miles. The outage lasts about 2 to 3 seconds and then returns along with a seatbelt icon and audible alarm. engine power not affected nor TV on the inverter. any one have any idea what is causing this or what to check. seems to be no pattern related to driving conditions

Totally different coach & chassis, but I have had partial dash electrical failure that I traced to a loose connector on the rear of the dash. After it happened 2 or 3 times, I "encouraged" it to stay in place with a small piece of tape across the connector and have not had a recurrence...

Samflhomes, This is an ongoing issue with the electrical bus on the Workhorse Chassis where one protocol is colliding with the other over priority. The "reset" is not going to hurt anything and Workhorse is aware of it. They are working on a resolution to this problem.

Once reset the instruments resume normal operation. Your observation that the event occurs arbitrarily is correct. There does not appear to be any precursors to the event - it just happens.

When I was at the Winnebago GNR the WH rep said they have a firmware reflash that fixes the problem. She offered to reflash mine but I had a scheduling conflict and since the problem has only happened to me three or four times in over five years I elected not to bother with it.

I recently had my first episode of the instrument panel shutting down and then re-firing after about 2-4 seconds. Since I had seen the issue here, I wasn't very alarmed at all. If there is a re-flash available, should I call Workhorse?

My 2004 37C did this a few times for just a short period of time. And I was told it was a programming problem.

The last time it occured it lasted for three days and over 700 miles.

All power and grounds were checked and no problem was found. Connectors and wires were inspected as well. On the fourth morning when the unit was started it worked. We have been on the road ever sence, more than a month, and it has not acted up again.

???????

The Regional Service Managers have the software "Flash" for this issue. It was successfully done to several coaches at Perry last spring. It re flashes the ACTIA cluster.

The Flash is year specific, and the 2005 Flash may render the cruise control icon inoperative.

Have your Service Center contact the RSM for assistance, or if you are at Tampa in Jan, one should be at the show and you probably could schedule an appointment to get it flashed.

I believe that the 2007 and later do not have this problem, it is the 2003 to 2006 that have the two different protocols on the communication bus.

If you folks belonged to the Workhorse Chassis Motorhome Club you could be flashed at their rallies, and meet some of the Ambassadors and some of the Corporate folks.
