the emergency flasher on my 02 workhorse quit, when I don't know. Checked fuse under hood 20amp and its ok. Turn signals are ok. Does emergency flasher have its own flasher separate from turn signals or does it share. If it isn't seperate what could be wrong?

Bigdog9586, I believe the emergency flasher system uses a separate flasher from the turn signal system. And I think one is "inside", under the dash, while the other is outside on the firewall, but I don't know which is which. Do you have brake lights operating?

My brake lights are working fine. All lights work except emergency flashers. I see now if I turn them on nothing happens but if I also push on brake they come on but don't flash. I think next step is to locate the flasher and try another one. Locating it will be the hard part. Anyone know where it is?

Bigdog, my flashers quit in my 02winny, and you had to apply a little pressure, fore and aft, to
the switch and they would work. When it went in for the brake recall, I had them do the annual
inspection and they replaced the turn signal lever, now flashers work OK. I have to assume that somehw they are tied together! TENN.

Well, I just called in today to have my Emergency Flasher repaired or replaced! The tech said that if the flasher works sometimes it probably is because the contacts are bad, possibly due to the overloaded of too many amps, caused by to much electrical load on the system thru the diodes and wiring system on the tow, in fact he said that WCC recomends to put the diodes as close to the lights in the tow as possible. (Per WCC).
The turning signal assembly and emergency falsher both has to be changed out, they go together.
He has mine on order now.
The previous owner may have had his tow overload the system. I installed an independent system with it's own lights in the tail lights assembly and eliminated the diodes problem.
