The switch for my flashers is bad. I have the part which includes the turn signals and wiring harness.

Does anyone have any idea about replacing the old one. Do you have to remove the ignition switch, steering wheel etc to get to the old one and replace it?? . Are there diagrams available?? Thanks for any help.

Mine was done under warranty at a WHSC...and they did not remove the steering wheel (even though I had heard it was required)...that's all I know.

ichn2go, Mine is giving me trouble. Try letting the switch snap to the outer position a couple of times until it starts working again. Mine works just fine now, it must have been dirty from lack of use. Happy trails!

Tried that trick Angelman, several times to no avail, the switch is toast, after being used for about 45 minutes in an emergency situation. It seems the extra load of my toad vehicle was too much for it.That switch looks expensive and I will use an external switch to take up the emergency flasher function.I think that whole multi-function switch is a joke anyway,it doesn't even have a flash to pass and it is too light duty for the real world.

You can just pull the emerg. flasher switch out by pulling up on it. It. got a small plastic tab on the end that holds it in. This is the contacts for the turn signals and four ways. If they are burnt you can clean them but most of the time the heat takes the tension out of the contact springs. Another thing have you checked your flasher. There is a seperate one for the emerg. flashers. If you said it was overloaded this could be the problem. It was very hard to find on my o5 dolphin it was under the dash on the left side of the steering collum. The turn signal flasher was right were you could see it but the fourway flasher was tide up in a wire bundle about arms length up under the dash. getting in that position was not easy for me and I had to get my DW to help me get up.

Did not realize the switch could be removed in this manner. The flasher unit is OK and found on the right side of the steering column and only acessible if the Actia panel is removed. If the 4 way switch is turned ON and the switch is pushed and pulled in just the right way it will flash for a while but not reliably.Thanks.

The next time I used the left turn signal it didn't work. after checking erery thing in the system I started to take the sterring colume apart and discovered the 4way button was loose. I lifted it out and saw it had all the contacts on it for the turn signals. I pushed it back in and it snaped in place and now every thimg woors fine.
