My '01 W22 8.1L keeps posting the code P1336. It runs excellent and I've logged somewhere close to 7000 miles in the past 90 days. If I clear the code with my Scan Gauge it comes right back.

The code seems to be related to a crankshaft position sensor (PKS). I'm not sure how long the code has been there. Ironically it doesn't cause the Check Engine/Service Engine Soon light to ignite. I don't recall if there is one.

It may have occurred over 3 years ago when I installed my UltraPower Upgrade? Or there's another problem? Anyone?

Fortunately here in Maricopa County, AZ they don't test for OBD codes on vehicles this size (every year). I did have my CO and other emissions readings and components tested today and they were low as usual. I'm fine with that after 9 years and 40,000 miles.

Here's a bit more information .... about your DTC. I don't expect that codes are retined for years. They clear themselves after so many restarts. If the DTC keeps popping up there must be some anomaly that is triggering the event.

It sounds like you either need to do a Crankshaft Position Relearn procedure or you have a faulty crankshaft position sensor, I would start with having the relearn procedure done.
