While on a trip to AZ Engine wouldn't start, but sometimes after disconnecting battery, coach or auto jacks it would start.
Not always on the first try,
My unit is 07 Winn. Sightseer, 29' with 30263 mi.
La Mesa Rv after many hours of checking circuits decided it was the PCM powertrain computer.
Replaced it and it starts ok now.
Is this a common malady with the workhorse unit.
Does workhorse have problems with this unit?
any info would be helpful!!
Does workhorse have a phone # where I can get information
thank you,
dick

Dick, Are you the original owner? A phone number should have been made available to you in your owner's manual.

As far as I know there is no systemic PCM failure rate and anything electronic can puke out at almost any given time. Glad you got it replaced under warranty. I'm thinking that what you experienced is something completely transient and now having replaced the PCM you should be good to go.

Please keep us in mind if this event occurs again and we will be glad to walk you through to a resolution.

Dick, The new vehilce warranty on your motorhome is 3 years or 36,000 miles depending on the delay start of warranty.

If the computer is the ECM it is part of the emission control and the warrenty is 7 years. This is according to the Workhorse Manual for my 2004.

I just reviewed the owner's manual W00009780 2006 and it says that emission controls are good for 5/50 on Page 286 Vehicles over 14K pounds GVWR.

Now this only covers emission control failures not any other operating parameters of the PCM. If there were a DTC pointing to an emission control failure and it was the PCM, I expect that it would have been covered.

It was unusual to hear that a PCM was replaced to resolve a starting issue.
