I replaced the module at the same time as the pedal assembly.
Can you tell me the cost of the modules and where do you get them. I am getting the P1516 code but clearing it doesn't solve the problem. Something needs to be replaced.

I had a local WH shop order them and they were expensive.
I don't remember the exact cost now but I think the two accelerator module were around $400 for the pair.
I thought the TBI throttle position activator and sensor was about $500 but another posted said above he got it for $350.
It guess I get so upset with the costs that I block out the prices.

Thanks for the info. I would pay $500 to solve this problem and not fear breakdown on the road

Those parts must be used on other vehicles. Would they be a GM part? So much of WH stuff is GM you would think they might have the parts. Any good GM parts guys out there?

Yes, ASE Cert. and all that as well, but i have been away from it about 4 years now. If i'm correct, i think the 8.1 was offered in a 2500 & 3500 PU's till around 04 or 05. More motor than the truck needed for sure. As to the parts mentioned above, there is also aftermarket suppliers, AKA- Autozone, Advanced, O'Reilys, Carquest, Napa,Ect....

Correct - the 2500 series could get the same 8.1l engine. When I replaced plug wires on my 2006 Samba just a few months ago, I had AutoZone look up wires for a 2500 8.1l.

I found this bulletin for 5.3l and 6.0l engines with p1516, but I wouldn't be surprised if it applies to 8.1l as well. Note the bulletin indicates that improper grounds for towing can cause this.
