I have a 2002 Airsteam with the 8.1 GM (28,000 miles) and I have very troubling problem. The engine has an intermit shutter that occurs randomly. It may happen at 70mph or at 35mph. There are not codes that are being stored and the problem seems to be getting progressive worse. The WH mechanic spent 4 hours diagnosing the engine and has come up with nothing. Does this sound like the plug problem? Suggestion are welcome.

I had a simular, if not the same problem but mine showed up on the scanner. It felt like a vibration or a missing cylinder. Only felt it when going up a hill. I also had 28,000 miles.

The right rear plug and wire was changed. Solved the problem.

Good luck!

If it occurs only at high RPM check the air filter. After sucking a Purolator filter apart after 20K miles I'm now going to change my air filter every 10K miles whether it looks like it needs it or not.

Had a very similar problem on mine, #3 plug wire was bad. I went ahead and changed wires and plugs as the other 7 wires were not in great shape. Runs perfect now and well worth the expense to me.
