Engine throttle quit

Coming down a mountain with Grade Brake on everything went well until I got to bottom I hit the throttle and nothing but a little increase of about a few hundred RPS from idle, I pulled over and put in park and sit for a minute and everything went back to normal. This worries me sense we are going to Tucson in 2 weeks is this normal sometimes coming off a mountain grade?

Need a little more information on your rig Noleakman. Year model, engine size, trans type etc.

Noleakman, I guess you did'nt notice if your LCD screen said something like "Reduced Engine Power", did you. That sounds like what happened to me, only one time. I stopped at the nearest exit, turned it off, restarted and it ran fine for the rest of the 2000 mi trip with the 'Check Engine" light on. Took it to the svc cntr and the code said I had a bad fuelpump and they ordered and changed it.
Does Actia have any thing to do with the electronic throttle control?
Intermitent problems always remind me of Actia.

Oh yea, come to think of it, it happened to me after a long mountain descent too and before it I noticed that I had no throttle, the LCD was telling me that I was averaging about 80 MPG.

the throttle is controlled by an electronic box called a TAC module, if for some reason communication is lost you will have the problem you explained. Generally a code would be set in the computer P1517, P1518 and/or P1519. The module is a black box located in front of the steering shaft (under the dash)attached to the firewall. We find that the plug becomes loose and won't make contact all the time or the unit is going bad. Just an idea of what to look for.
