I have a feeling my valve is bad because I get hot air when controls are set on vent or AC. The compressor is cycling on and cools great before the engine reaches operating temperature. I am going to install a ball valve to shut off the flow of hot water in the summer which lasts most of the year down here.

My question is: Do I have to install two valves or will one do the trick? My thinking is that one will work because it will shut down circulation from the water pump. I assume the tempcon valve is on the "in" side of the heater core. Is that correct? Thanks.

dd43: IMO, one valve on the hose going TO the heater core will do what you need. ED

I got Evans to send me a new valve, No Charge. They were reluctant to do so but I told them I have heard a lot about these valves going bad. They said they will send me a new one and I am to send them the old one back. If they found the old one not bad they would charge me. They didn't charge me.
