I just recently picked up my 2009 Georgie Boy UFO, While looking at things around back it was brought to my attention the Mufflers where basically rusted thru in several points, I was just interested in seeing if this is a common problem.

I called my dealer and was it should be covered under the warranty so will see, just felt odd a unit this new would have rusted out mufflers.

Also on side note, anyone with a UFO chassis how well does your chassis a/c work, mine does not seem to cool very well.

We have owned our Holiday Rambler UFO for about a 1.5 years and have not seen any rust out of mufflers. As for the A/C, it is satisfactory but not super efficient on my coach. Maybe Gramps will weigh in as he had an issue with his A/C but believe it did not work at all due to molex connector problem.

Best regards

No rust on my exhaust and the dash AC works great.

No problem with my mufflers either (at 6,000 miles and 2008 model). My dash AC is ok (takes it awhile to start working since the cooling fluid has to come all the way from the compressor etc. in the back at the engine) but to enhance its abilities I make sure it only is cooling the front cabin by making sure the bath room and bedroom doors are closed. I had a muffler go bad when my coach had 5000 miles on it. It sounded like marbles were in there. As far as our dash A/C goes, on the drivers side it cool's great, but on the passenger side it is only fair. Not a problem with the A/C, but more with the way the dash is configured and the location of the vent's. I just need to find the time to relocate a vent.

Each manufacturer puts the condensor (with its big fan) in a different place on the chassis. Mine is just in front of the back bay with the shore power cord. My ac turns my knees blue, which is a complaint of mine. I would like the vents to be a bit higher so I can get more air on my face when driving. My muffler doesn't apprear to have rust on it. Some of the exhaust pipes leading to it are a bit brown but no worse than I have seen on my autos. Each manufacturer configures the exhaust pipes differently.

Is the chassis a 2009 or is it older. I've been on factory tours and saw motorhome chassis' sitting out in fields with weeds so high you could only see the upper half of the wheels. Along one Interstate Highway back east, don't remember exactly where it was, I also saw motorhome chassis' parked in fields where the water was almost up to the chassis rails.

At the time I mentioned to my wife, next time we look at a new motorhome to buy, remind me to climb underneath of it and check for rust and the like.
