Haven't seen any discussion on this

Have done the Banks thing. Thinking about Brazel's Chip, plug wires & Ram Box.
Or maybe just take $3,000 and put in E-trade Bank at 5% and keep paying the price at the pump?
Let me hear what you think.
W-22 w/ 5 speed

Are you kidding me.... A very expensive exhaust pipe blower. I would put my money on a good set of headers and mufflers.
Banks is 3x more than Brazels UltraPower. Plugs and wire just compliment UltraPower.

It's difficult to come up with an intelligent comment regarding this peripheral. If you've done the Banks thing - you're telling us that you already have the headers and mufflers. You're exhaust system should be great at this point.
Regarding products from Brazel's you certainly can call them, ask for Mike, for more information.

I'm very sorry I did not come up to the exacting standards of this forum. Yes, I did have the Banks header and exhaust system installed and the K& N filter as well. I was not happy with my very small (if any) gain in fuel economy. There is no question it has more power. I removed the K & N filter and cleaned the Mass Airflow sensor and feel perhaps this helped MPG just a bit. Without driving many miles under every possible condition and being totally anal before and after can one truly quantify this.
I know Brazel seems to have many advocates "pimping" for him but why doesn't he advertise and educate a bit more and take a bit of the "smoke and mirrors' aspect out of his marketing approach.
After 3 contacts with him, I still don't know what his ram air system is or how it works.

fayrankin welcome to irv2 and the Workhorse forum.
On three Fords I had the Banks system work the best there is but no increase in mileage.
With the W-22 I wanted some better mileage because of costs of fuel and the added benefit of seat of your pants HP.
I got that and more with a plus 2 mpg and the power that makes driving my coach in CC most of the time a pleasure to drive.
I did add the CAI and wires & sparks myself but maybe didn't need them to get same results.
The CAI I added because of problems with water into the TUBA that WH uses for there air intake and that Newmar fed more water into with there hood opening design. The CAI solved that problem.
Cost wise the Ultra Power is well worth the money. If you have no problem with your wires burning up as some have had problems with, the Banks would be just a added cost.
Hope this helps with your decision also the Banks only has one pipe where I like the sound of my duel pipes WH has on the W-22.
If you have money to spend like some of us old guys you can add what ever you like.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

Mike is probably talking about a CAI and not a RAM air. Perhaps your misunderstanding regarding either system might be the source of your confusion but we can always work around that to help you get a better idea of what each of those products does.
A RAM air system does not work very well on a motorhome chassis because we run in the rain a lot. RAM air will normally charges the intake manifold with outside the coach body cold air including rain directly from the air stream.
The CAI or Cold Air Intake takes more of an opportunistic approach in pulling in cold air from inside the coach body envelope. The opening to the CAI box is typically shielded from direct impingement from rain striking the face of the body and a sufficient amount cold air is taken into the air box making the system effective.
It is claimed that the larger surface area and low restriction characteristic of the filter media which are made from premium cotton or synthetic materials impregnated with special oil offer better cleaning and flow characteristics than conventional paper filters.

What you will get with the Ultrapower upgraded ECM is more power, and most likely very little or no increase in MPG. I would go that route instead of the exhaust scavenging system.

Note the word "power" in Ultrapower and Banks PowerPack.
Let us all know if you find any add ons with the name of UltraEconomy or Banks EconomyPack.

In a internal combustion engine HP/Torque and economy are mutually exclusive. You need HP/Torque to haul 18,000 to 24,000 lbs around.
Brazels and Banks are not selling ECONOMY. If you want economy go get a Winnebago Sprinter with a Mercedes diesel - 18 mpg.

A ram air System = More air being forced into the induction system of the vehicle.Seems pretty straight forward,I wonder why I had such a hard time explaining that on the phone.
I'm gonna get a big purple Hat & scarff so I can be a Halloween PIMP! If my Bit**es don't start doin a better job,I gonna break out a can of Whoop A$$!
