Firestone air bags

I just purchased a 32 foot Triple E Commander that has 2 air bags in the front - separate air fill and 2 in the back that are conjoined fill -- suggestions for air pressure?
Thanks

I would suggest putting enough air in the bags to level out the coach front to rear. The maximum pressure for those bags is 100psi and the minimum is 5psi.

On most coaches similar to yours the rear sags just a bit. Sometimes one side sags more than the other. I would find a perfectly level pad and get the coach as level to the pad as possible. Start with about 20psi in each side up front and then move to the rear. Add pressure to the rear until it comes up level with the front. If one side of the rear is sagging you may have to separate the crossover tube and make each rear bag inflatable independently like the front is.

IMO you only need to bring the coach up to a point where it is level front to rear and left to right. If you haul a trailer you should limit your tongue weight to about 500lbs max. At max tongue weight you may need to add 10 additional psi in the rear bags.

The basic rule of thumb with air bags is 25lbs of load carrying capacity for every psi of pressure per bag. So 50psi in a pair of bags =2500lbs of load carrying capacity. That's what the Firestone airbags I have on my pick up said in the instructions anyway.

From 1995 GM manual....

Pressure must be maintained between...

Min 10psi to max 50psi 4300lb front suspension
Min 40psi to max 50psi 5000lb front suspension
Min 60psi to max 100psi 5500lb front suspension

Before loading the RV inflate to max pressure. After loading decrease the pressure to level the vehicle.

No mention of pressures for the 4800lb coach but given that max is 50 for both the 4300 & 5000lb coaches I'd say the 4800lb is the same for the max but the min is lower than the 5000lb recommendation. Likely 25-30psi.
