Well, I never thought that I would have had the distinct pleasure of doing a P32 chassis lubrication however I can now add that to my resume.

Let's see:
5 on the driveshaft
12 on the A frames
2 on the pitman arm
8 I believe on the tie rod, bellcrank, & idler.
2 tie rod ends.

29 fittings ??? .... am I close? I lost count!

I used Valvoline synthetic lube and boy that stuff is slippery. After a while my gloves were so full of grease I couldn't push the chuck on the zerk.

The lower A frames were a bear to get grease into. I use a Lincoln one-hand pump grease gun and it worked flawlessly. We had to do a pit stop on the chuck and hose and take up a couple of turns to tighten up the chuck. Mid-way through the process, I had to refill the gun with a new cartridge. We had the motorhome all the way up on its jacks because it gets claustrophobic under that thing when you're a big guy! Plus you definitely need the clearance to get at some of those fittings. If I learned anything about doing a P Series lube job .... bring lots of rags!

We had to move the steering gear left and right so I could hit 2 of the fittings on the idler arms??

Well we had a nice day for it, cool temperatures in the upper 40s and the sun was shining.

My shoulder is sore from squeezing so hard on the handle. Some of the fittings were difficult while others like the ball joints have rubber boots that hold the grease were easy. Sufficient enough to just give those fittings a few pumps. The drive shaft fittings are easy in comparison. 1 of the fittings had a zerk cap? The thing was a pain, I needed a plier to get it off.

I removed my rubber gloves and they went in the garbage - that worked out well because I didn't get any grease on my hands.

In summary, I'd rather do 2 W series than 1 P series.

I lubed my W-22 and it was a job. It had more than enough fittings to make it fun. What I would like to know is how to get a diagram of were to lube an R-22 chassis.

I do my P30 every year. I dont have jacks. I have changed almost every front end part. Changed exhaust manifolds to headers droped the fuel tank a few times. They are not so bad once you know your way around them.

I am glad that I have given you the opportunity to expand you limited knowledge, by providing my P-32 for your experimentation.
Amazingly you only got one small blob of grease on your shoulder, a Workhorse wind shirt, and another on your shirt cuff.

I cannot thank you enough for giving your time to complete the chassis lubrication in a professional manner.

The next time(6 months)you will know exactly where each fitting is located due to this experience!

Thanks again

I use a 18v batt. powered greese gun, snap-on #cgg4850 7500psi works great even in the cold.no sore hands or arms. makes it alot faster plus you get to use a power tool!

Sounds FUN. Is there a map to point out where the greese fittings are on a 2004 W22?

Brake-less, The lubrication chart is in the downloadable, Workhorse Motorhome Chassis Guide. See the sticky at the top of this forum to get one.

There are only 14 fittings on the Dub-Ya. 5 on the driveshaft, 3 on the pax side, 5 on the driver's and one on the Z-Bar.

Tom, True that! Still shell shocked over all those fittings on the P. Is there a such thing as Post Zerk Stress Disorder? (PZSD)
