Flounder MH...40' w/W-22

Hi all...just sent to the web site of the new Flounder gas MH on the W-22 chassis...39'10''! NCC of just over 1,000#. Does this make sense? Not sure if Workhorse approves each application of their chassis?

BTW...the rest of the Flounder is interesting...all "home" version appliances..and a $108K MSRP. Thanks...Tom Rootness

TomR: THANKS for sharing. I confess I thought you were joking around at first. Now I see it is apparently a legitimate product, and I downloaded the sales brochure pdf file so I can study it in greater detail.

At first glance, it appears to be a LOT of MH. I wonder why they didn't choose the W-24 to improve ccc , especially in light of the stretched wheel base of 258" (WCC's longest offerring is 242"). One feature they apparently needed to use because of weight is the SINGLE slide out. I'm sure the full sized "residential" appliances will appeal to lots of folks, and it will be very interesting to see how this new product is accepted by RV buyers. It is another in a long line of products from the mind of John Crean, and is apparently at least a little like an ALFA, only a gasser

Hopefully we will soon get a post with additional info from a member who has seen one in person. You guys in California keep us posted! ED

Flounder??!!! Somehow I'm not sure of the marketing research that went into the product name selection....

RUSTY, just a hunch here, but I think it "may" be an attempt to play off of the Alfa FOUNDER edition, which is the lowest priced model of the three ALFA DPs.

There are several OEMs which have tagged their products with seemingly questionable names. In my not-so-humble-opinion, the INTRUDER and TSUNAMI are examples, and then there is the not-so-cutesy Kountry Star which we bought!!

Mike Thompson has a terrible internet reputation.

The W22, yea right. Full home appliances, yea right.

The Flounder is not shown on Mike Thompson's website.

I called Mike Thompson. They have one in stock in Santa Fe Springs and it is made by Alfa.

I guess it's not a hoax but it'll never fly.

I still have my doubts though.

Alfa's website shows the FOUNDER but it is on a Freightliner diesel chassis.

I still say something is fishy here.

Well TOM N, if this is is a hoax, I fell for it "hook, line, and sinker" . I guess that proves I can be "baited" There is an eight (8) page "sales brochure" in .pdf format on the website, which led me to believe it might be real. I guess I will do more seasearch before I can cast any further opinions! ED
