I have a 2003 W22 Chassis and replacing the front pads, I am having trouble getting the front inner and outer axel seals, my dealer tells me that they are back ordered. I was wandering if anyone knows where I may purchase these seals. Need to get on the road, have everything else except the seals.

Thanks for any yhelp you may render.

I just had one replaced. You can find them at NAPA. It is a Scotseal P/N 28758. $27.38.

Hi Bill, if you discover that your old seals are "Stemco" brand, you may have to remove their spacer from the hub. It will become apparent if you can see the edges protruding from the hub. It can be pried off with a rolling head bar..

Wa7hra--

Thanks-- My rig had one of those "wear sleeves" on one axle. When the workhorse folks put it back together they used the wrong seal. It lasted 15 miles, it got me home, and then was leaking profusely. I am so glad I wasn't on the road it would have been disaterous. They took it back apart and said "we don't understand why it has a wear sleeve on it with only 24,000 miles-- I said your asking the wrong guy that question!"

I had a howling in the front end and they suggested we change the bearings and seals. $1100 bucks later, I had the above problem. Oh, the howling noise was the grill howling and singing at road speeds. I had to fix that myself.

I'm glad you pointed out the different seals
