While installing my new high dollar Koni shocks, I noticed that my front springs had been hitting the frame crossbar, making indetations, two on each side 3/8" to 1/2" deep into the crossbar and warping the sides. The crossbar is just behind the front wheels and fastens to the bottom of the front Kwikee Jacks bracket. The crossbar is Workhorsse OEM and is removed and reinstalled on the Kwikee jack bracket, lower than it's OEM location. as the spring compressess it slams into the crossbar and I can't imagine my 2005 Winne Voy V33 Workhorse chassis is the only one like this. Take a look at your crossbar. I now understand why I was having such hard hits and the dash was banging over bumps. With the motohome setting normal, my front spring are just 1.25" from the crossbar.

I now have raised the crossbar to the OEM position and I have new shocks installed, but if I had known that the spring had been hitting the crossbar I would have waited and retried this mod befor new shocks
