Fuel filters
Can anyone tell me where I can locate fuel filters for the 8.1 Chevy and for my 5500 Onan generator. The coach is an '02 Holiday Rambler 34 SPD. Is it possible that the 8.1 motor filter is in the gas tank? Wish to change both fuel filters as I just bought the coach a few weeks ago.
Thanks for any and all info.

If it is on a workhorse chassis, my filter was an inline filter mounted along the chassis rail on the street side of the unit not too far in front of the fuel tank. You can get them at NAPA and need 2 wrenches to replace. Sorry I can't remember the size wrenches you will need.

An Onan genny of that era had two filters. One between the fuel line and the fuel pump at the bottom left of the unit and another just below the carb.
The same filter was used for both and has been discontinued.
The one under the carb has been eliminated and replaced with an adapter - Adapter: A026E259.
The one on the fuel pump has been replaced with - Filter: 149-2341-01

IF yours is a W series (not a P32), the FF is a common GF481, which has only one inlet & outlet, and is located inside the chassis rail, above the rear axle, on the driver side. There is a "sock" on the bottom of the in-tank pump, but you DON'T want to mess with that-it requires dropping the tank.

Gf481has been replaced with Gf652 not GF645 as books show. If you take in old one you'll see GF652=GF481.
Cheapest place is through Amazon utilizing a company called Auto Parts Champ . No shipping charge, unit price is $8.83 for genuine Delco part. I bought one in town at $14 to compare to online item and both were stamped AC Delco on the filter.

fuel filters 8.1 Workhorse and 5500 Onan
Terrific info from everyone...a big thank you. Engine filter was easy to find and R&R. Onan had only the small filter directly under the carb, and had a crimped clamp which makes me wonder if it was the original. No other filter found at lower left, but made the change out with an Onan 0149-2341-01 and it runs perfectly.

Now that you apparently know you don't need the FF adapter, I suggest you buy at least one more FF as a spare. It only takes one fill up with bad gas to put you on the side of a road. Having a spare.......priceless!
