My mechanic has removed the fuel pump. On top of the fuel pump, it is completely painted so no part numbers can be read. The pump itself is OK. The fuel regulator on top of the pump is bad. Does anyone know the part number and name for the fuel regulator and fuel pump for a 2004 Workhorse?
Thanks ...................

TXredfish-

Oemy has this info on his web site under engine parts --

25028274In Tank Fuel PumpAC Delco/GM25178125In Tank Fuel PumpAC Delco/GMSP6100MIn Tank Fuel PumpSpectraP74758MIn Tank Fuel PumpCarter The above 3 numbers indicate this pump is for an 1998-1999 Chevrolet P30 Van or GMC P3500 Van-

Better yet, goto Oemy's web site here and go down to engine parts-

I don't know why it came up in the format its in now after I copied and pasted it-

I checked Omey web site for the fuel pump part numbers. It says that "the above 3 part numbers are for 1998-1999". I am confused which number to order. So, I checked at Camper Clinic. They called Workhorse and gave them my Vin# and ordered a fuel pump. They said that that the fuel pump regulator, located in fuel pump was not replaceable and I would have to purchase complete pump assembly at $350. So no choice, and I ordered it. I checked other sites for fuel pumps and most were close to $300. I did find one for $190, but I am not sure if it is the right one. The pump is working but the fuel pump regulator is allowing 90 lbs of pressure at the engine. Thanks for your help.

TXredfish,

I am posting a link here to a GM forum. I

I was looking for what is "normal" fuel pressure. It seems to be 10 psi (at idle)- 60 psi.

The crank shaft timing sensor is another point of concern.

10 psi at idle doesn't make sense to me. It is an electric fuel pump would run at the same rpm at idle, fuel then goes into pressure regulator which I think keeps the pressure constant as the volume increases or decreases. The excess is returned to the tank. My Jeeps regulator shuts down if the fuel line is open. Please correct if my perception is incorrect.

Read this link-

I believe some sysyems, like TBI, can be as low as 14 psi. I guess normal pressure for fuel injection is in the 40 psi, or so, range.

I was just commenting mostly on why 90 psi is too high- I didn't know the normal operating pressure-

My WHC manual says 55-70 psi at the fuel rail with no vacuum at the regulator.
