Dave: we know that pressing both mode and trip buttons at the same time toggles the MPH to KPH. Perhaps you can try that when your trip computer choice is "instant" to see if that will toggle back to mpg. Personally, I find the instant mpg display to be meaningless and annoying. Have you tried "average" instead?

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for your question.

thanks edgray, ill try that.
i know the mpg display isn't accurate but it's better than lookin at gal per hr.
i run a big vacume gauge in the dash and its fun to use the two together. keeps ya busy on the interstate.

Interesting question; on my MH, I wasn't aware that I could control the setting. As long as my MH is moving, or for a short period of time when first stopped, it shows MPG. After a short period of time it, it switches to gallons per hour but as soon as I drive off, the computer again switches to MPG.

Thats is news to me, if your ignition switch is "on accy".", it then should monitor generater fuel burn, correct?.. I guess Genny fuel burn is rather slow, at least compared the 8.1, but something to "play with"...rgr...

Roger, don't think the generator fuel flow is monitored by the Actia dash unit.

Most estimates for Generator fuel burn is 7/10 of a gal per hour

My fuel mpg or gallons per hour reading is only the 8.1L engine when running; nothing to do with the generator. I assume the display just lets you know what rate of fuel you are burning while 'idleing' (gallons per hour) and when you are driving (mpg).
