I always see things that are WRONG with our Workhorse Chassis listed on here....

How about listing the things we love about our Workhorse's?

It's a Chevy

I paid $3,500.00 more for the 8.1 and I just assumed I would get the allison transmission. What a mistake that was. I got a four speed chev transmission.

That said, I practically knew everything I wanted to know about my MH from the onset using on-line resources.

Tan you did not check out what you were buying well enough. You must have ended up with a P-32 or a W-16/18.

My Workhorse was good to me. Hope the new owner has good luck with it also.

Even with some of the problems that we've had with our rig, I still love my Workhorse! As long as I own a gasser, it's going to be a Workhorse.....now, if we ever get a DP???????

Just so I understand what I am missing, what would the Allison do for me over the GM 4spd I have? I have not found a reason yet to dislike what I have, but then I have not driven a rig with the Allison and have only had this MH for a couple of months and less than 1000 miles.

Thanks.

My old P32 is beginning to feel like an old friend now that she's housebroke! She ain't a ford!! And she regularly hauls 20,000 #'s far cheaper than any DP could. She's quieter than a DP! And she's cleaner smelling than a DP!!

The Allison trans is much stronger. I had the Allison 1000 with a 5 spd. Now you can get the 1000/2100 with a 6 spd Allison.

What do I like???

-the low profile dog house

-the easy roll'n, smooth ride'n 22.5 tires & the good look'n Alcoa rims

-the good handle'n chassis with the Winnebago strech job (266" wheelbase) - which became great after the Koni FSD's were added

Yes, the Allison is great, the 8.1 liter engine is great, the handling definitely not great, therefore the W22 is just OK.
