We gave the okay to the Holiday Rambler Vacationer XL 38plt UFO gas today. If all goes well we will be bringing it home on Saturday. We are really excited about it but I keep asking myself the same question when I bought the Bounder...What the heck have I done?

As soon as I start driving the new coach I will do it. The chickens are pecking on the egg shell but they ain't hatched yet! In other words it isn't mine till I sign on the line.

There are several of us who have the itch. You are not alone. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a floor plan that is acceptable to DW. You know the old saying "If mama ain't happy nobody is going to be happy".

Don, you wouldn't trade in your Chieftain would you????

Bev is right, after having the Chieftain floor plan it's hard to find something better!!

By the way, TV mod info on the way.

Later ya all,

Dave;

You know how it is? Men are impressed by the power train and women are impressed by the galley and floor plan. That being said, I do like our Chieftain and neither Bev or I can find a floor plan we like as well as the Chieftain. I will have to pour some water on my burning desire for a UFO until we can find a suitable floor plan.

Thanks for the tv mod info.
Don

Gramps, congratulations on your new "UFO" HR38PLT! Please give us all a full report once you had a chance to take it on a nice long trip. We are all interested in the handling, maneuverability, fuel economy, and quietness of your new "UFO"! Chuck/Bagman57

Done, as of last night and the rig is parked out front! The trip from the dealer was a lot of fun except for the last 30 feet..getting The Spaceship (the nickname one of our rv friends gave it) onto the steep driveway. The 200 mile (aprox 22 gallons) drive home was pretty good. although I have to learn the new chassis. Shift patterns, things like that. Man, I love the brakes. This big rig stops as easy as my Vue.

Gramps, 22 gallons for 200 miles is pretty darn good. How fast were you driving? Bags.
