Amazon.com: ACDelco 15961566 Switch Assembly: Automotive
This is the cheapest place I've found to buy the ROTTEN GREEN SWITCH.

It looks like my RGS but it says "This switch will not fit my 04 Workhorse P-30".
Is $35 really a good deal? I have an extra one somewhere that I bought from a GM dealer; I can't remember but I did'nt think it was that much. But then , the dollar is not worth much these days.

Rotten green switch, known to all of us with the autoparkbrake. If it fails you are stuck with the drive train locked up tight until you put in another one.

$35.00 is a fantastic price!!! Dealers charge upwards of $100.00.

This switch is for all Workhorse chassis that use the J71 brake system, all P-chassis some have the autopark brake undre the chassis others like my 2002 Workhorse has the unit under the hood right above the battery.

The auto park brake system (option J71)
is used on all Workhorse Custom
Chassis P models with 4L80E
Hydramatic Transmissions above 15,000
# GVW. This brake replaces the foot
parking brake and parking pawl used on
similar units at 15,000 #GVW and less.
The Parking pawl on the 4L80E
transmission is rated at a maximum of
15,000 pounds.
The foundation brake is a drum type
brake mounted on the rear of the
transmission. When the brake shoes are
applied against the drum, it stops
rotation of the prop shaft, which holds
the rear wheels from rotating. A springloaded chamber mechanically applies the
brake. A hydraulic cylinder that obtains
pressure and flow from an electric
powered pump releases the brake.
The brake is applied when shift lever is
put in the park position. This is done by
the park neutral switch and relay
removing a 12V power supply to a
normally open solenoid valve.
