Just courious if anybody out there put a hand brake in their motor home in place of the auto park? I know it is not legal to sell without the auto park working, but I am not planning on selling in the near future. I would disconnect the auto park and use a hand brake until time to sell. Would then make sure auto park works. How tough of a job is it to put in a hand brake?

Thanks

Keith

Keith, I'm not so sure that I would go through all that trouble to setup and hand brake and then restore the AAPB back to OE specs.

Have to agree! The Autoparkbrake works very well as long as you maintain it. Getting it working correctly if not maintained is a different ball of wax. Just buy a few extra RGS, RBS and one extra light(gray) switch and you will be set if you have an issue. Proper adjustment is key along with regular maintenance.
Roger Haag aka Old Used Bear is the expert and will help you with more info.

my moho has a foot operated parking brake.
it looks to be a fairly easy job to install a real hand operated parking brake mechanism such as the lokar.

Buy Lokar Hand Operated Emergency Brakes at RJay's Speed Shop!
