Hard trans upshift

I had my MH in the shop for some brake work . When I drove home the trans seems to shift late and hard . Also doesn't seem to down shift when I try to pass someone . I asked them to see if they knocked off a wire or something and they saw nothing . Is there something I can look for myself ?

Hmmm I had that happen once but I'd be surprised it's your problem. I have 1985 6.2 diesel c class. My transmission won't shift properly if I'm missing one of my belts or if it's loose as hell. It'll shift but hard...

IF this is the same shop that put in the wrong brake fluid, I would look for an Allison certified shop to have the tranny looked at, assuming your Workhorse has an Allison.
Otherwise, it may just be that your tranny needs to be driven so it can "re-learn" how to operate. This can become necessary if the battery is allowed to go dead, or is removed for an extended period of time.

Ok thanks . I mentioned to him about the brake fluid and he said they put whatever OEM recommends and doubts he put DOT 5 in it .

I drove it 1600 miles from NJ to Savannah GA this past weekend the trans still shifts hard and late .

The Allison doesn't need that many miles to "re-learn", so I suggest you have it checked by an Allison approved service center. It may need a simple computer re-flash.

I brought it back to the shop the other day . I took the mechanic for a ride and his scanner came up with a code . It wasn't showing output shaft speed . So either a bad sensor or it became disconnected .

Stopped by the shop today . When the mechanic went to change the speed sensor he found the wire had come loose . He plugged it back in and it's shifting fine now .
