I don't know if this is allowed, if not feel free to remove, but Oemy's company manufactures and sells a unit to adapt a readily available, and inexpensive filter ( pre 04) to the 04 and later WH. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago, it came in 3-4 days, and I found it to be very nicely designed and made. My WH has 30 K on it, and I didnt have any filter symptoms, but I have had "wet" fuel problems on other vehicles, requiring several filter changes to work out, and I wanted to be able to make changes easily, and "cheaply".. Nice product Dale/Glen...As an aside, I wonder if all the flooding in the midwest, will lead to some "wet fuel issues".I will be south of there in a week, but I would be wary of fueling where there is so much flooding.....rgr...

As much as I would like to take credit for the OEM Engineering Adapter I can't.

The original idea belongs to Jack Aschenbach (Husky Jack). Jack took a old filter, cut off the "T" welded in a fitting and he was off and running using a GF481 filter. I made the 2nd adapter just like Jacks and ran it for 2 years.

Glen Norman (Mutha Busser) had the adapter made based off what Jack and I did. I just helped Glenn with various parts of the project.

The adapter is dead for all practical purposes. The machining and advertising costs were to high and the demand was too low. So, once the last of the 1st production run are sold that's it. At last count there were about 25 adapters left.

Dale;
I installed one of the fuel filters that you provided to me, so now I have one left to keep in "stock". Maybe a good idea for me to get one of those adapters for future use!

By the way, the install was quite easy, even for an ole senior chief. Did the air filter and "fixed" my differental situation at the same time. Now, it's time to get on the road!

Bob

I just bought an adaptor + (2) fuel filters (GF 652) from OEM-Engineering for $101.50. I should get them by early next week. I'm looking at reduced cost of future fuel filter replacements plus being able to use off the shelf parts. Talked with Glen Norman directly. Seemed like a great, knowledgeable, and kind person over the phone.

This web site is surely a great help. Thanks to all.

Relax, drive safely, and enjoy God's creation.
