I need to have my brake controller installed by wed, I cannot located the blue wire for the brakes up in front. I see it start from the back and goes to he top of the motorhome on the right side but cannot locate it under the dash anywhere, I have a 2005 bounder 32W. Any help would be great to point me in the right direction on where that blue wire may be, Thanks
Marty

Marty, you should have a dark blue wire on the right stop light and a yellow wire on the left stop light. These wires go through 4 different wire harnesses to the multifunction switch (turn signals, cruise control, and hazard switch) and remain their respective colors through the whole journey. From the multi function switch it comes out as a white wire that goes to the brake light switch mounted just above your brake peddle.

We looked all over or all under the dash and didn't see any wires like that. Are they loose wires or are they connected to plugged into something else? Soory for the stupid questions but it just don't seem to be there. Two of us were hunting them down lol. Thanks I'll give it a shot when I'm more rested tomorrow. Marty

Sorry, the Dark blue wire turns into a Dark Green wire as it comes through the firewall at connector C200. Then it goes to connector C711 at the base of the steering column. It is pin E7 in connector C711.

When I installed a brake controller on my W20 chassis I found that the blue wire coming out of the trailer plug in the back only went a few feet and stopped. I wound up running a new wire from there all the way to the front.

If you're just looking for a brake signal you can use the light blue wire that comes off the brake switch mounted above your brake pedal. It is on the inboard connector and the furthest right wire. It may have electrical tape wrapped around it to the base so it might be difficult to see until you strip some back.

After thinking about what you are trying to do. If you are connecting a brake controller for a trailer you don’t want to use the wires that go to the brake lights. The reason why is because these wires, Dark Blue (right brake light) and Yellow (left brake light), also are used for the turn signal as well as the emergency flashers. If you were to use these wires and use a turn signal or flashers you trailer brakes will apply at the rate of the flasher. It is best to use the wire JonBrazel mentioned in the above post. The Light Blue wire is best to use rather than the white wire because it is used for the third (center) brake light only and will not effect any other function in the motorhome.
