Help, stranded in Damascus, VA!
In a park in a motorhome , Southwind 2005, W20 chassis. The motor will not turn over. Tried jumping battery reads 12.58 .Was able to bring 2 slides in and also the jacks. Instrumental panel lights up and when you turn switch to start there is no noise. Obd2 shows no codes. Any suggestions or ideas helpful.

It may be the starter, since you have great voltage. Try tapping on the bendex and starter body lightly with a hammer while somebody tries to start the engine. This will sometimes do it if the bendex is stuck or if you have a dead spot in the armature of the motor itself. Good luck.

Try moving gear shift lever to neutral then back to park, tilt wheel, then if that does not work clean batt connections and grounds.

Good point Mike. It could be the neutral safety switch. You can pull it off the trany and jump across the plug and it will start if that was the problem. Nice thing is then it will start in any gear, which is kind of nice in its own way, but all will be fixed with a new switch if that was the problem.

Regarding will not start
My husband got underneath the Motorhome and tapped on the starter as I turned on the switch and it started. Turned it off a few times and it started.one time it hesitated and we waited couple minutes and it started. Does this mean I need a new starter? Thanks for all the help!

Assuming you don't have a loose wire on the starter, and you probably don't. I would just bite the bullet and put on a new starter. Not very pricey and easy to put on. Before it leaves you stranded in a rain storm in the middle of the night or something worse. But you now know what to do in the mean time, if it fails to start. It may work for a long time, or fail on the next try, but it will fail again at some point. Just glad you got it going.

Not as long as Hubby doesn't mind crawling underneath! Start by removing wires to starter/bendex and cleaning connections. That might work, but probably a new starter would be more reliable and easier on Hubby.

Starter relay? You could go from the battery direct to 12 V post on starter to determine this.
