Janet H: Maybe you could answer this for me, since another brake thread was closed while I was typing these questions regarding 'brake parts':
Since I’m not a mechanic and have never done any brake work myself, I’d be interested in knowing how similar, or dissimilar, the brake components in 1995 are to ones used in 2004. How does the material type of the rotors, pads, calipers, etc. compare to each other? How does the size of these components compare? I think my Ford was on a 18k chassis but I’m not sure. Seems that it was 30.5’ on a 190” wheelbase. Tired to find info at fleetwoodrv.com but didn’t see the old brochures that were once there.
And no one has seem to have an answer on why brake problems have gone away with the later 2005 and newer chassis. It’s been said here that no changes have been made in the brake components in the newer chassis, so why the drop-off in failures?
There has to be something attributable causing these problems, but what?

Richard - I am also not a mechanic, nor affiliated with the folks who make these parts. Please respect our wishes on this issue and take your concerns directly to the those who have the knowledge and ability to get you the answers you need.

Janet H.
Why are you allowing "certain" brake threads to remain open? My understanding was that as the brake problems could not be solved here, all brake threads were to be closed.

We are doing our best to keep discussions on track and on topic. The 2 threads that were closed were closed because they had strayed far off course. We are an internet community, we exchange information here. Demands to see resolution another parties issue are simply inappropriate here as we are not a manfacturer.
This forum has rules and one of them is that attacks, flaming posts and insults are not allowed. The threads that remained open were a little less strident and we hope that collegial posting and the exchange of information of interest to many can continue with out further interruptions.

The original question has been answered and a few off topic posts have been moved to the "No brake problems here, how bout you??" topic.
Please go to that topic to see those posts.
Thanks.
