Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me what to look for on this hitch recall ? Any pictures out there ??
I'm told there might be a weld or two missing.
The local dealer said they have inspected quite a few and have foung none with missing welds.

Thanks

Gregg

Last year Fleetwood had a recall for some motorhomes for possible missing welds. My dealer checked mine and said it was fine. That's the only one I know about.

IMPORTANT RECALL INFORMATION #40715. That was the title of my second notification from Fleetwood on the hitch problem. The hitch recall is for certian Fleetwood products. "Certian 2003 and 2004 model year Terra, Fiesta, Flair, Storm, Bounder, Pace Arrow and Southwind Class A motorhomes." There are some Class C motorhomes involved also.

The problem is with Draw Tite hitch recivers installed by Fleetwood Enterprises, "they may be missing one or more welds that would normally exist between the hitch reciver box and the bottom support plate."

I had the motorhome checked on the first notice, everything is fine. I hope this info helps.

Same here. Had my hitch inspected even though it appeared OK to me, so Fleetwood would quit calling me. Hitch was fine, no missing welds on base plate.
