Horns have quit working on 2003 dolphin on W22 WH chassis. There are 3 horns 2 in front and 1 on roof. There is no voltage at either lower horn. Only fuse I can find labeled horn is the 50 amp located in front of engine. It is ok. Where would be the next place to check. Cannot locate the horn relay. Not sure how to remove horn cover on steering wheel. Looking for help. Nationals handbook electrical section no help.

If this is any help at all, please inspect the grounds that are associated with the horn circuit. It's the only way they work. When the horn button is depressed, it sends voltage to the horns which is returned to ground. Bad or no ground - no horns. I have experienced this type of failure on my air horns. The problem was in a corroded connection. I had just previously bought and installed a new relay which was not needed. Live & learn.

Driver I have checked voltage going to horns with voltage meter. Ground wire Ok no 12 volts. When pushing horn button No noise of a relay working. Can not locate horn relay to check fuse or the voltage to it. Could it be in the horn button. If so how do I get to it. Have the 18 inch Steer Wheel.

Send a message via AIM to oemtech
Maybe this will help.

The horn relay should be in the Panel mounted on the firewall under the dash.

Thank you for the diagrams. Found the problem now how to fix. The horn button on steering wheel the wire running from the button to the cionnector located fixed to steering column was loose. Any suggestion on how to take off the cover box on bottom of steering wheel. Have loosened the two screws but do not see how the control arm that raises and lowers the steering wheel comes loose.

Calin Are you saying the knob pulls straight out. Tried it a little, but did not want to make matters worst by breaking. Will go try again. Thanks

The button pulls right off.

Now I don't think that anyone here has a genuine SSC Horn Button.

BUT it comes off the same as the stock button.

Driver It was not the horn button that I was having trouble it was the knob that raised and lowered the Steering wheel. As Calvin stated it did pull straight out. This allowed me to see the problem. In the steering colum there is a plastic collar that the connection the wire from the horn button connects. It is broken. Looks like a big job to replace.

Due to the location broken connection between the horn button and the horn relay. Would it be easier to replace the horn button and horn relay system. Any body replaced the horn button and relay. Hoe this makes sense.
