how to drain the rear differential oil

How do you drain the rear differential oil? There is no drain plug. Maybe remove the lower housing bolt?
What about new oil Mobil 1 syn 75/140

Ron, if you look at the "sticky" above this post thread you will see "2006 Workhorse Chassis Guide" you can download for free. In it is a pictorial of the differential used and the drain location along with a lot of information that you will love to have. BTW the drain plug is on the bottom facing the road and it is a allen type plug that a square 1/2 pull bar fits. The fill plug should be on the drive shaft side 1/2 way up housing.

Your drain and fills may be different. First figure out which axle you have. I have the Spicer / Dana S110. The drain is the bottom housing bolt. It has the word "Drain" with an arrow to that bolt. The Fill is curbside half way up on the third member housing. You can use teflon tape or a liquid sealant on the but don't sweat it, rear axles aren't notorious for leaks.
