My chassis manual says that if the chassis battery is removed, upon replacing it an "Idle Learn" procedure may have to be done--but of course it doesn't say what that procedure is!

It is supposed to be something the owner can do without tools. Does anyone know what it is? I have a weeny W16 chassis and the 8.1L engine (and a flat battery).

Thanks in advance.

Oh, by the way, it does state that the procedure is not always necessary, as it can relearn all by itself, but it would be nice to know what it is anyway.

....did it start up for you?
The computer has "flash" memory and will learn the idle parameters on its own.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I haven't put the battery back in yet--it's still on my garage bench charging.

So, as long as it starts I shouldn't have to do anything?

yes...that's correct, in fact I ship these computers out all the time (without power connected) and they fire right up!
