I have a 2002 Georgieboy with a workhorse chasis. I have burned up two ignition switches and would like to fix the root of the problem. I have seen several post of owners adding a relay onto the ignition switch the same as the workhorse solution but alot cheaper. I am wondering if anyone has pics. of how to do this or some detailed instructions. I do alot of work on my motorhome and would like to get this fixed to eliminate being stranded again.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you registered and downloaded the FREE Chassis Guide. I believe the process is described in that publication.

I just finished reading through the chasis guide and did not find any mention or wiring diagrams for the ignition switch or a repair by adding a relay. If you know of a wiring diagram that shows this procedure that would be great.

I have contacted workhorse to get a wiring diagram and they told me Quote "Good Luck" . I do not understand why workhorse has to be so unhelpful about their units, I live 4 hours from a service center and it does not make sence for me to take my motorhome that far for a simple fix.

A person may also choose to buy the Service Manual CD on Workhorse.com. That has just about everything you would need.
I'm sorry about the not present in the chassis guide. I see so much stuff I forget where I've seen it at times. Perhaps you can call one of our sponsors either Jon at Brazels or Keith at Redlands. Let them know you are an iRV2 member.
They might be able to help you with the P Series relay kit.

I drew a little generic circuit for you, but confess I don't know how to post a picture. If you can send me a Private Message with your email address, I can send the circuit directly to you.

Attached is a PDF of the instructions for the Workhorse kit with pictures. the GM part numbers for the connectors and the ignition switch are 12102602 & 88988812 & 2609706 switch. Hope it helps. Can't remember the size of the relay and I traded in the coach.

Greg I
Thanks so much for the information. That is exactly what I was looking for. I think this will help alot of other workhorse owners as well. I bought a relay and a new ignition from napa, total cost with wire and connectors about 35.00. Not having to drive 2 hours to a workhorse dealer, priceless. Also, much more economical than the $185.00 workhorse wanted.
Thanks again
