My tire dealer suggest that I use "Counteract" (brand name) balanceing beads in the new tires. They are glass beads and not effected by moisture. My question is -Has anyone used this brand of beads?

I have used glass beads but I don't know if they were that brand. I was sceptical at first but I have enjoyed one of the smoothest ride since. You migh feel a slight out of balance for a few blocks if the rig is allowed to sit for a few weeks. Then it goes away and the tires are balanced at any speed.

One other such product is called "Equal" which also works well. The trick is that balancing beads are a component of a system. Make sure that they take care of the valve stems. They all need filters so the beads do not back up into the Schrader valves and or damage a TPMS sensor.

Counteract Is different in that if you are installing new tires. The product comes in a bag that you place inside the tire when if is mounted. This bag must break open when the tire starts to roll. It can be reused. My dealer does sell "Equal", but states "Counteract" is a better product. We will see!

Perhaps we should do an A to B comparison. It would make for an interesting story. Take the ball and run with it!

Can't say what kind of beads I got when I had my new tires put on, but I did tell them to put beads in for balancing. Good ride last trip...

I know Equal needs a valve stem filter. My Magnum beads do not need a filter but the do provide a SS valve stem core. I also replaced the BRASS valve stems with steel versions. As far as balance... works as designed from my perspective.

Question??? Why did you replace the brass for steel stems. Counteract comes with new valve stem cores and new valve stem caps. I will call Counteract and get their recommended on the valve stems.

Well, it goes like this. I had one break when I remove the SS wheel liner. How did that happen. I had TST pressure sensors installed and they are kinda of a pain to remove use the supplied tool. So, I decided not to remove them and when I pulled the SS wheel liner off, it was stuck, I caught the TST sensor and bang off comes the top of of the valve stem. So, there I set in my RV barn with flat. Needles to say Coach Net came to the rescue.

Also, my valve stems were going on 6 years old and the installer recommended steel over brass if I decided to change, which I did.
