Is there a break-in procedure for a 2007 w20? We will be picking our coach up in about three weeks and want to do everything we can think of to take good care of our new coach. Medium to high revs, low revs, speed and load important to do or avoid in the first few thousand miles? Do we change oil/filter earlier than usual? I've also read here that the Allison is a learning tranny. Is there a break-in for this also? Thanks!

Just drive it as you would later but don't keep it at a constant speed eg 70mph for more than 5 - 10 minutes- drop to 60 -65 then go back up to 70 Vary the rpm and don't flog it.
Change your oil at 3000 miles and change the filter on your transmission at the same time (outside filter).
If you baby it too much it won't break in properly.

How about the guy who drove it from the factory for 1500 miles as fast as he could get away with???

Don't forget to change your Allison spin-on filter at 5,000 miles. There a magnetic ring on the top of the filter. Replace it after you change the filter.

The price of gasoline will determine your zeal for throttle pressure.

As suggested drive the motorhome as you would drive any vehicle -- with moderation. Varying the RPM and speed is a good thing so don't get stuck on trying to run the thing at high speeds in cruise for extended periods.

You should be fine and there isn't a lot to be worried about. Enjoy the ride and let us know if your new ownership experience is living up to your expectations.

Welcome to the family of Workhorse owners.

Thanks All! We'll make sure that we know where the spin on filter is and the type of fluid used when the dealer PDI's us the rig. This is gonna be a KICK!

To find the max speed and rpm driven you can toggle through the LCD options. Would have done that myself when I bought mine had I known. Will also give mpg. All good stuff to know.
