I have been told different percentages of front to rear weight to allow for a proper balance and to allow the leaf spring suspension to work properly. Does anyone know if there is a "ieal" range in which it would be best? Is that balance number different for different chassis like a W-22 or a W-24?

Mike,
The 'ideal' weight should be 1/3 front and 2/3 rear...in other words, if your coach is 22,000lbs the front should be around 7333lbs and the rear at 14,667lbs.

Steve,
Thanks for that. I just wanted to know what an ideal ratio would be. Are there any characteristics that would be felt if the front was a couple hundred pounds lighter or heavier?
I am just trying to understand some of the dynamics of handling with respect to front to rear weight bias. I am sure there are other factors that play into this also but I figure I will start with the basics.
Thanks

Mike,
A couple hundred pounds wouldn't make a noticable difference...the weight distribution I suggested is what you want to 'shoot' for +/- a couple hundred pounds. It's nearly impossible to get it spot on.
