Which workhorse would I have on a 2007 Itasca Sunova 34A? Im quessing the W22.

Are you happy with the Workhorse or would you rather have the V 10?

Silly question I know.

I'm looking for comments on the Workhorse.

Thanks, Brandon

Looks like it's not a W22, the GVWR is 20,700

Does that mean it's a W20?

Is that good?

Brandon,

If the GVWR is 20,700 it is indeed the W20. For the most part, the W20 just has lesser rated front and rear springs. As long as you don't overload the MH it will be fine. Our 32'10" Southwind is on the W20 chassis chassis and weighs in at 18,980 lbs. with full tanks and ready for camping. You can get more info at Workhorse's website.

Well, since you posted this on the Workhorse forum, you will get a bunch of Workhorse fans....

We like ours, but you can't do wrong with the Ford Chassis either....

Well - other than it's not a workhorse

Kidding aside - Happy Trails. Spring is in the air.

I do have the Ford V10 now in my Hurricane (AKA Hurricrap). I'm not a big Ford fan. Also I like the fact that the Workhorse has a 6 speed Allison, and of course is a Chevy.

Hey Brandon! Just a small point of order, "it has a Chevy!" But it's 100% Workhorse.

Welcome to the Workhorse Chassis Forum and I hope we see you visiting us often.

So it has a Chevy but it's a workhorse chassis?

All I have to do is fax over the purchase order and they will be ordering my Itasca tomorrow.

I'm so excited! I can't wait to be rid/free of the Hurricane!

Workhorse is a excellent chassis but considering the size of your coach I would go for the 22000 GVWR Ford as the CCC would be a lot higher.

These are the specs on the website:

GCWR (lbs.) 26,000(B) 26,000(E)
GVWR (lbs.) 20,500(B) 20,700(E)
GAWR - Front (lbs.) 7,500(B) 7,500(E)
GAWR - Rear (lbs.) 13,500(B) 13,500(E)
Wheelbase 228"(B) 228"(E)

Looks like to me the (E) Workhorse has more GVWR. The 22,000 GVWR Ford (Gulp) V10 is not an option on the Itasca 34A.

My Hurricane did show the Ford Chassis as being capable of hauling more so I went with the Ford V10 on it. This time I'm going Workhorse all the way!

You will do very well with your new coach on a W20.
